Welcome to the Berry Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church website. Our church is located just about six (6) miles south of Mandeville on the Manchester plateau that boasts a cool climate all year round. We are one of the churches that make up the Newport district of churches (the others being Newport (our mother church) Blenheim Town, Rest Store and Port Mahoe), which are under the leadership of Pastor Devon Champier.

We would love to have your company, so on any Sabbath morning that you think of visiting another church, please think of Berry Hill. We have many different programmes each week that you can enjoy, and all these programmes are designed to leave you spiritually enlightened, enriched and empowered.

Sabbaths

Sabbaths are a full day of worship activities, christian fellowship and Bible-based learning. We begin at 9:15 a.m. with our Sabbath School & Personal Ministries programme where rich, soul-stirring singing awaits the young and the old, along with awe-inspiring reports documenting the mighty acts of God in the lives of people here at home and all around the world. During this time also (9:50-10:30 a.m.), we have a dynamic and interactive review the weekly Sabbath School Lesson (the "Quarterly").

From Sabbath School, we move to our Mid-day Service (sometimes refered to as "Divine Service") which begins at 11:00 a.m. Here various soloists or groups will warm your heart with their selections, the children will get their special story treat, and all will enjoy the rich, thought-provoking, Bible-based sermon from the appointed messenger. At about 12:30 p.m. (1:00 p.m. on occasions) we break for lunch.

At 3:00 p.m. we gather for our Bible Class. You don't have to worry about the requirements for entering this class--our textbook is the Bible; and whether you think you know too little about the Bible or you have read all its pages, you are welcome.

Our Adventist Youth (AY) Programme begins at around 4:30 p.m. The youth and the youthful of age 1 to 100+ are all welcome. If you consider yourself old ,come and we will make you feel all young again. The singing, the poetry, the stories, the health information and the various creative activities are all guaranteed to put the spiritual icining on your cake for the day and leave you wanting more.

As the sun sinks over the horizon each Sabbath evening we bid the sacred hours adieu with a final charge from our Pastor or Elder in a short Vesper Service. Here we reflect on the wonderful day we have spent in God's Courts and solicit His guidance as we enter a week that is totally unknown to us. Although we will normally feel sad that this Blessed Day is over, it is with joyous anticipation that we await the next Sabbath.

NOTE: Once every quarter we have our Youth's Day where the youths take charge of the entire Sabbath day's programme (the date is announced in advance on our Upcoming Events page). You just have to see our young people in action for God! It is customary for us to have a "Social" after vespers on Youth's Day. At these "Socials" we play an assortment of ring-games, test our knowledge with riddles and quizzes and have good, healthy Christian laughs.

Week Nights

On Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m. we meet for our Evangelistic Meeting where we learn more about the teachings of the Bible and about our mission to spread the good tidings of the Gospel of Salvation.

Our weekly Prayer Meeting is held at 7:00 p.m. each Wednesday evening when we look closely at the promises of God, His providence, His protection and care; we share testimonies of His goodness and have special individual and group prayers.
